The Allegheny National Forest Chapter invites you to spend some time giving back to the trail and meeting other NCT hikers!

Our meeting time is 10:00am on Sunday, Nov 3 at the Rt 321 Chappel Bay Trailhead. The Rt 321 Chappel Bay trailhead is located about 4.3 miles south of RT 59 and about 6 miles north of the Forest Service Red Bridge Campground. GPS coordinates are N 41° 48.684’ W 078° 52.295’. This workday we’ll continue along the section of trail south of 321. We will be building a staircase, a box bridge, and a few check dams, along with widening a few spots along a switchback.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed.

We encourage new people to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!

• Saturday, Oct 5, 10:00am to 3:00 pm at Henrys Mill trailhead. We will be building a quarter-mile reroute along Pell Run.
• Sunday, Nov 3, 10 am to 3 pm at FR 116 Dunham Siding Trailhead. Drainage work will continue in this area.
