Allegheny National Forest Chapter, September Workday
Join the NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter for a workday on Saturday, September 10. We’ll meet no later than 10:00 a.m. at the Roper Hollow Boat Launch (GPS coordinates: 41.922305, -78.9472877). We’ll be boated across the reservoir to Tracy Run for this workday! If you have a life jacket, please bring it.
If the weather doesn’t look like it will cooperate for boating across the reservoir, the alternate meeting spot is the Tracy Ridge Trail System Trailhead Parking (GPS coordinates: 41.9433557 -78.8771986), and we’ll hike down to the work site. That call will be made no later than 9:00 a.m. the previous day, so you’ll know where to meet.
On this day we’ll be rerouting the Trail at Tracy Run to make the stream crossings safer. We’ll be moving the Trail off the muddy road grade and moving the crossings of the branches of Tracy Run. This work will ultimately lead to the installation of the bridge over Tracy Run, dates TBD.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All other tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We hope to see you there!
