National Public Lands Day, Allegheny National Forest Chapter
Celebrate National Public Lands Day (also North Country National Scenic Trail Day) with the NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter! Let’s also celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Allegheny National Forest!
We’ll hike up beautiful Cherry Run to Rock City. We’ll stop there to play on the rocks and relax, then return to the trailhead. There we’ll continue our gathering with snacks and drinks. The round trip distance is about 5 miles and is suitable for all ability levels. Hope you’ll join us!
Our meeting time is 10:00 a.m. at the Cherry Run Trailhead, located just off Route 948. The trailhead is located about 3 miles southeast of the intersection of Route 666 and Route 948. Look for the sign to tell you to turn off of Route 948 to get to the NCNST trailhead.
Please come prepared for the hike dressed in appropriate layers for the weather, carrying your own food and water. Friendly dogs are welcome. We hope to see you down the Trail.
