Late Winter Hike on the NCT
Join our Allegheny National Forest Chapter for a late winter hike heading north toward Little Salmon Creek.
Our meeting time is 10 AM, Feb 17 at Guitonville Parking. The parking is located about 2.5 miles west of Rt 66 on the left (south) side of the road at the beginning of FR 540. Coordinates are N 41° 27.616’ W 79° 12.133’ (41.46026, -79.20221). You can also follow this link to the spot on the NCTA interactive map.
We will do an out-and-back hike north on the NCT. It is about 2.2 miles to go to the Amsler Spring Shelter and back or about 8.6 miles to go out to the Little Salmon Bridge and return. The length of the hike can be adjusted based on the desires of the participants.
Please come prepared for the hike dressed in appropriate layers for the weather, and carrying your own food and water. Friendly dogs are welcome. We hope to see you down the trail!
