First Trail Work Day of the Year!
Do you like hiking the NCT and want to help keep it free of the stuff that tends to fall onto the trail over time? Then join the Allegheny National Forest Chapter for our first trail work day of the year on Sat, Feb 24!
Our meeting time is 10 AM at Rt 666 Henrys Mills. The Henrys Mills Trailhead is located on Rt 666 at about 3.5 miles south of Rt 948 on the SE side of the bridge over the Tionesta Creek. Coordinates are N 41°38.158’ W 079° 02.569’ (41.63596, -79.04281). You can also follow this link to the spot on the NCTA interactive map.
We’ll spend the day working on tread improvements to two sections of the trail.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”.
Hope to see you there!
