Clarion’s BIG Outdoor Festival will be held on June 3-4. As part of this weekend, the NCTA Clarion County Chapter is sponsoring a series of hikes.

There will be hikes available on the Loop Trail behind CUP’s Suites on Main from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. each day. A volunteer will greet people with maps at the Loop trailhead. There will also be a volunteer at the riverfront along the trail to explain the development of the Loop Trail. This is about a two-mile hike. All hikers will get a free trail bag with brewery and raffle coupons.

There will also be a hike on June 4 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Celebrate National Trails Day with us! Hikers can park their car at the NCNST Trailhead just west of the Clarion River bridge on Route 322. There will be two hiking options: a three-mile hike and a six-mile hike. Hikers will be shuttled from the trailhead to the starting point and will hike back to their car. All hikers will get a free trail bag with brewery and raffle coupons.

The Clarion County Chapter is also hosting a Children’s Nature Walk which is scheduled at 11:00 (arrive at 10:45) on June 4 for children ages 8-12. It will start at the bridge on Doe Run Road and a naturalist will lead the children on a 1.25-mile hike along the beautiful scenic loop of the North Country National Scenic Trail. Besides hiking, the festival will also have biking and kayaking events along with popup shops in Clarion, a brewery crawl, and concerts on June 5.
