This October, the North Country Trail Association will hold its annual Celebration in Walker, Minnesota. So, the NCTA Dakota Prairie Chapter is sponsoring a spring hike to get you started on your “Walk to Walker!”

This will be a short (approximately three-mile) hike that is mostly roadwalk, and leads you into Minnesota. We’ll start at (and return to) the NCNST kiosk at Fort Abercrombie. During the hike we’ll hear some interpretive information about prairie flora and fauna, especially prairie chickens! What a great way to help us focus on spring and summer in our beautiful prairie lands.

After the hike, we will gather at the Fort Saloon Restaurant in Abercrombie for some good conversation and general anticipation of the hiking season ahead. Dinner on your own. Please join us!
