6.5 miles one way. Hike out and back, as far as you want to go.

About half of this trail follows Wilderness Park Trails, Swampline and Sturgeon Bay Trail. Wilderness Park marks trail intersections. The other half goes through pine and hardwood forests, a swamp, through Lake Michigan sand dunes and along many ponds. All of this section is within Wilderness State Park, and Park rules apply.

Note: There are two Sturgeon Bay Trails. One is a county road which goes between Pleasantview Road and North Lakeshore Drive. The other is a trail within Wilderness State Park.
