This is our Hiawatha Shore-to-Shore Chapter’s Spring Trail Improvement Day!

Here is a day to give back to the Trail we all love to use! Come and help with some needed improvements.

You have never worked so FUN! We have a tool that will fit your hand!

We have a couple of small re-routes to improve the trail alignment in the area of Brevort Lake Road – one to the west and one to the east. Other maintenance activities in the area could take place depending on the number of volunteers. The amount of work is such that your efforts are needed and will be greatly appreciated!

Needless to say, there will be some dirt work as we establish new trail tread in the area. Trees and brush will need to be cut and removed, and blazes will need to be painted (weather permitting). There is a section of turnpike to build as well, so some gravel and timbers will need to be placed on the trail in a wet area.

FIND US: Brevort Lake Road is 10 miles west of Saint Ignace via US-2. Turn north and travel 2-1/2 miles to a US Forest Service road called Jolene on some maps. It is where the NCT crosses Brevort Lake Road. That is where we will meet.

BRING: Clothing that can get dirty. Work gloves and a second pair, solid footwear, water, a snack or a lunch, — bring a friend!
We will provide the trail tools necessary to do the work.

Come for the morning, the afternoon or all day. Any amount of help will be appreciated! After the work day we will gather at a nearby location for refueling and refreshment.
