Join the Spirit of the Woods Chapter for a hike on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10 am.

We will be hiking in Sawdust Hole, which is southeast of the town of Brethren. The hike will be starting on a spur and joining the North Country Trail. Distance will be dependent on hiker’s preferences and the conditions on the day of the hike. You can do more or less as the hike is an out and back hike.

Depending on conditions, you may need traction devices such as Yax Trax (or possibly snowshoes) on your boots.

The meeting location for the March hike would be the small parking area near the spur trail (this is within the small Forest Service Sawdust Hole campground NOT the DNR Tippy Dam boat launch). You can see the Google map to that point at this link:

If this area is snowed in on the day of the hike, you will see the group parked on Dilling Road where the trail crosses Dilling. If you don’t see anyone on Dilling Road, drive to the Sawdust Hole parking area. We will hike west from where we park.

The hiker parking area is on a spur that joins the North Country Trail at approximately milepost 811 on the Avenza map. This Avenza Map link will help to see the area.
