Our Stories
If you just had a little more time…
… You know you could capture that winning picture for the Spring 2010 PA Photography Contest.
- Maybe you’ve been procrastinating.
- Maybe you have been out taking photos this Spring, but you haven’t yet captured “the one” that you know will be a winner…
- Maybe you already have that perfect picture, but you just haven’t submitted it yet…
- Maybe your Memorial Day plans (like the Butler Outdoor Club’s Outdoor Extravaganza) or your National Trails Day project on June 5 (like the Kelletville Re-Route in the Allegheny National Forest) would provide you the perfect opportunity to snap that winning photo…
- Maybe you have been looking for an excuse to come to PA to take home the win for your home state, but you didn’t have plans to visit- until now (see above)…
… Or maybe this is the first time you’ve heard of the Spring 2010 Photography Contest…
Whatever your reason, if you just had a little more time, you know you could win it (or at least take home a prize!)
Well…
Good News!
You have more time!
The new deadline for entries in the photography contest is June 13, 2010.
That’s another full month to get out on the North Country Trail and capture photographs in the “Wildlife,” “People,” and “Trail Features” contest categories- or you could shoot for the lofty “Best in Show.”
Remember to take your families along, because there are also contests for kids (ages 3-12) and teens (ages 13-17)!
Submit up to 5 entries per person by emailing your entries to Julie at pacc@northcountrytrail.org – but before you do, make sure you read and follow the contest rules listed here.
What’s in it for you? Here are just some of the prizes available to the winners:
- A tantalizing gift basket provided by the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, including: Chocolate from Pflueger’s Candy, Maple Syrup from Zanella Milling, 8 oz. of Coffee from Kiva Han, Seasonings from Con Yeager, Herbs from Herbal Delights, Country Lane Jam from Butler Farm Market, Sauces from Mama Rosa’s Restaurant Sauce Kitchen, a Cookbook from Marburger Dairy, and a Tote Bag from the Bureau including an Official Visitor Guide for Butler County.
- One of the trail-wide famous Ed Scurry Hand-Carved Walking Sticks. This one is carved from walnut, but Ed will let the winner trade if another stick better fits his or her taste/needs.
- A brand new Keystone Trails Association Hiking Map featuring a complete guide to trails across PA.
- A bundle of three North Country Trail Association section maps provided by the Butler Outdoor Club.
- NCTA logo gear from the NCTA Shop
So, now that you have a little more time… make the most of it! Get out, take a hike, and submit your pictures by the new June 13 deadline. Good luck and happy hiking!
