Categories: Uncategorized
Registration is now open for the 24 Hours of the Chip trail maintenance event scheduled for June 26-27. The purpose of the event is to mow the entire (well, almost) trail section within the Chippewa National Forest over one weekend. Volunteers will be provided with a free t-shirt, a free lunch, a shuttle to & from your trail section, the tools and safety equipment you’ll need, and free primitive camping at Mabel Lake near Remer.
We are looking for volunteers (teams of 3-5 or individuals) to tackle 2-4 mile segments and mow the trail, trim back brush with loppers, and/or remove trees & brush that has fallen on the trail. The estimated time commitment is about 4 hours.
For more information, visit the 24 Hours of the Chip website. To register, fill out the registration form and and return it to Matthew Davis at PO Box 1805, Detroit Lakes MN 56502-1805 or via email.
