The Call of the North, the Minnesota member newsletter has gone electronic!
Categories: Uncategorized
As of the current Summer-Fall 2009 issue, the Call of the North, NCTA’s Minnesota member newsletter will only be available electronically. This difficult decision has been made for two reasons:
1) To save the Star of the North chapter’s limited financial resources for outreach (e.g. having an NCTA booth at the semi-annual Outdoor Adventure Expo in Minneapolis) and on-the-trail activities (e.g. the recent chapter project to construct register boxes and kiosk brochure holders).
Each issue, which has been sent to all NCTA members in MN by the Star of the North chapter, costs about $400 for printing and mailing. With membership declining, the chapter just can’t afford to keep spending that much 2-4 times annually.
2) To go green by cutting down on paper consumption and fuel used in mail delivery.
We know that this decision will upset some members who prefer to receive paper copies of the Call of the North. Our hope is that you’ll give the electronic version a try.
The summer-fall issue was (or is being) emailed to all NCTA members in Minnesota who have provided email addresses. If you would like to read it but haven’t shared your email address, you can download it call-of-the-north-summer-2009 (PDF, 832k) . Please share your email address with us and we’ll add you to the newsletter distribution list. Note: We will only use your address for emailing the Call of the North.
Thanks for your understanding,
The Call of the North Editor
