Water abundant on the NCT in the Sheyenne National Grasslands, ND
Categories: Uncategorized
Here are some pictures taken in the Sheyenne National Grasslands in SE North Dakota last Friday (5/14). After a very dry late winter & early spring, we’ve enjoyed a very wet May here in the Upper Midwest. Due to all the rain in the last couple of weeks, there is a lot of water on the Sheyenne National Grasslands. While enjoying a short hike from the eastern trailhead, I kicked up a couple of ducks from the NCT. You surely can’t say that everyday!!!

In many ways, it would be a great time to hike the NCT across the Grasslands as you wouldn’t have to carry much water and the bugs are still not out yet. Or, better yet…you could sign up for our Volunteer Vacation to work on the NCT (June 13-18).
