Come join the MN Waters and Prairies Chapter and the Dakota Prairie Chapter in Fergus Falls on a hike in one of the few Tail Towns on the NCT. The hike will take us through four ecosystems. We start out on the last section of the urban hike on a paved trail. Then through the woods to one of the highest points in Fergus Falls. A short descent on a stairway takes us to the banks of the Otter Tail River. We emerge from the river to traverse a section of native prairie. Next we follow a 10,000 year old glacial river bed which brings us to Delagoon Park and finally to Prairie Wetlands Learning Center. City, woods, prairie, wetlands, and river beds make for a very diverse and exciting hike. We will have a few rest stops and bathrooms along the way. This will be about a three hour hike. After the hike, join us at one of the local brew pubs for refreshments and more great hiking stories.

Meet at Prairie Wetlands Learning Center parking lot. We will carpool to the beginning of the hike at Red Sox Park. At the end of the hike we will carpool to collect the rest of the cars.

This hike being led by Kim Embretson of the MN Waters and Prairies Chapter. To see more details, including directions to the starting point and to RSVP, please check out our Meetup.com event page.
