Because this hike is a local favorite, the Grand Traverse Chapter of the North Country Trail is offering a second color tour in the month of October. Hosted by Kathy Taylor, this 7-mile out-and-back hike is rich in color and vistas along the Manistee River near Kingsley, Michigan, and will conclude at the newer Kingsley Brewery.

We will meet at the Baxter Bridge parking lot and hike on a moderate-to-aggressive trail to the John Briggs Memorial bench, where we will rest, snack, and enjoy the beautiful view. (Hopefully we will still have some color!) After that, we will hike back to our cars.

Please note that there are small and large hills on this stretch, so we will rest as the group needs to.
Bring water, snacks, and optional poles, and please wear sturdy shoes.
