Join the NCTA Wampum Chapter on May 20! We have a reroute in the planning stages, but in the meantime we’ll head to Game Lands 148 on to mow and maintain the current pathway. Meet at the Possum Hollow Road trailhead at 9:00 that morning, and we’ll take the mile and a half run out with the mower, pruning, and sprucing up the paint blazing along the way.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to become familiar with the operation of a DR Field and Brush mower to join us and get some practice time in as the terrain is pretty flat and grassy (at least for the first mile), with some woods work to do along the old double track the last half mile. We’ll have an experienced DR operator on hand to explain the machine and spend some time talking about things to consider: fuel, downed trees, and “the unexpected,” when taking a longer run, farther away from roads.

Dress for the weather, bring drinking water as we’ll be out in the sun, and a snack if you’d like. Although we probably won’t be filming a video that morning, you should probably still comb your hair.
