July 20 is the Allegheny National Forest Chapter’s July Trail Maintenance Day!

Meeting time is 10 AM at the Rt 321 Sugar Bay Trailhead. The Trailhead is located about 7.5 mi south of Rt 346 and 6.35 mi north of Rt 59 on Rt 321 at coordinates N 41° 53.399’ W 078° 53.170’ (41.88998, -78.88617). You can also follow this link to the spot on the NCTA interactive map or in Google Maps.

A reroute around a super muddy area in Tracy Ridge is in the final stages of approval. We are hoping that we will be able to build it on this workday! Also on the to-do list is mid-summer mowing, drainage work, and rebuilding the Sugar Bay kiosk.

Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves.

All tools are provided and no special skills are needed.

We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember, “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!
