Wisconsin
(Previously received the central patch + Michigan, 1,000-Mile and Mackinac Bridge.)

I have finished all the Wisconsin miles. I started June 9, 2021 with the intention of hiking all 215 miles this trip. I had not planned on high 80-degree temperatures and the abundance of ticks and mosquitoes. I was doing a combination of overnights on the trail, and some nights in our camper with my wife and grandson. After two full days hiking, I counted over 250 ticks that I had on my shoes, socks, legs, pants, and body. After 104 miles, I decided to come back in cooler weather. That turned out to be the next year.

We came back mid-May before ticks and mosquitoes got bad. On May 28, 2022, I completed the remaining 211 miles of North Country Trail in Wisconsin. Fifteen days of hiking, five nights in a tent, and the remaining nights were in the camper. Working on plans to hike Minnesota next!
