Need to Know

A majority of property in this region is State Forest. Dispersed camping is allowed on State Forest land unless posted “no camping” or if you are within 1 mile of a designated campground. Michigan DNR camp registration cards are required at campsites. If planning a longer hike that requires you to cross the Mackinac Bridge, know it can only be crossed on foot on Labor Day. At any other time, you may contact the Mackinac Bridge Authority for a ride across.
