Northwestern Pennsylvania

Ohio/Pennsylvania state line to the southern boundary of the Allegheny National Forest.

The North Country Trail in Northwestern Pennsylvania highlights historic and rural Pennsylvania around the Trail Towns of Wampum and Darlington, and features opportunities for wildlife viewing, waterfalls and spectacular geologic features through the Slippery Rock Gorge. The footpath winds through Pennsylvania State Gamelands, along the Allegheny River, the Wild and Scenic Clarion River, and through majestic old-growth forests; connecting with the Baker Trail and entering the hemlock covered woods of Cooks Forest and the Clear Creek State Forest’s Maple Creek Tract.
