Last fall, the NCTA Jordan Valley 45° Chapter built a new bridge that parallels an old boardwalk over the beaver dam at O’Brien Pond. We have additional work to complete the project including, removing the old board walk and redeploying the materials as puncheon nearby. Altogether we are installing about 200 feet of puncheon. This work will start Friday, June 3 and continue on Saturday, June 4. Please come and help!

If you want to camp out Friday and/or Saturday night, we have a camping permit right on the NCNST just south of the pond. (Access camping via Jordan River Road.) We will not be providing food this year, so bring your own food and supplies. Each day we will probably head out to some watering hole for dinner for those so inclined.

Please RSVP to Duane Lawton by email (delawton@torchlake.com) or text (248-496-1869). Duane will provide details on time and places to meet and any tools you may be able to bring.

You can access the O’Brien Pond work site either of two ways:

  1. The Warner Creek Pathway Trailhead on M32 (about three miles west of US-131). This parking is about a mile from the work site.
  2. From Jordan River Road (about three miles west of US-131). This location gets you near the camping and work site.

If you are camping, you will want to come in on Jordan River Road. There is room for tents and smaller campers.
