North Dakota Waterfall Hike
Join the NCTA Dakota Prairie Chapter for a guided hike on the North Country National Scenic Trail on June 18.
Meet at the waterfall trailhead kiosk (6244 122nd Avenue SE, Fort Ransom, ND) for a 4.4-mile hike (2.2 miles out and 2.2 miles back) to the waterfall in the Sheyenne River State Forest. The hike will highlight flora and fauna, history, and geology of the area. This is a moderately strenuous hike with some hills on a well-established trail. Bring water, sunscreen, hiking boots, and bug spray.
If you have Covid-19 symptoms, have recently been diagnosed as positive, or have been exposed to someone who has Covid, we ask that you do not attend this hike.
Please RSVP via Meetup. Contact Gerry Berg at dgberg@drtel.net or Rennae Gruchalla at rsgruch@aol.com with questions.
The trailhead is approximately 11 miles northwest of Lisbon on Valley Road, or four miles southeast of Fort Ransom, until you see the state forest sign. (GPS coordinates: 46.502721, -97.878263).
