Kiss the Winter Goodbye Trail Workday, ANF
Join the NCTA Allegheny National Forest Chapter for the first trail workday of spring on Sunday, March 24!
Our meeting time is 10:00 a.m. at the Route 321 Sugar Bay Trailhead, located about 7.5 miles south of Route 346 and 6.35 miles north of Route 59 on Route 321 (41.889983, -78.886167 or Google Maps).
We’ll be working on a big project to reset and rebuild the bog bridges just south of the trailhead. We’ll also be installing a box bridge over an area impacted by beavers just south of the bog bridges. Finally, we would like to repair the Sugar Bay trailhead kiosk. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. If you have “barn boots,” they would be helpful as we work on the bog bridges and beaver area All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work.” Hope to see you there!
