Allegheny National Forest Chapter: June Trail Work Weekend – Sunday
Join the Allegheny National Forest Chapter Saturday, June 3rd , Sunday, June 4th or both as we prepare for the Allegheny-100 Hiking Challenge.
For both days, meet no later than 10AM.
If you are interested in camping Saturday, we suggest Minister Creek Forest Service campground, Kellettville campground or Amsler Spring shelter.
Both days of this weekend, we’ll be working on clearing and brushing to prepare for the A-100, along with a few small projects.
On Sunday, June 4th, the meeting spot is the Amsler Springs Trailhead located along Salmon Creek Rd, FR 145, about 1 ¼ miles north of Guitonville Rd. GPS coordinates are N 41° 28.197’ W 79° 11.951’.
Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!
